As I’ve written a while ago, I migrated my servers from RedHat to Debian. Since then, for one reason or another, I’m not able to connect securely to the LDAP servers running on these machines with the free LDAP Browser, nor with the commercial LDAP Administrator. Couldn’t figure out why, as with other tools it’s working and I’m very positive that my certificates are correctly imported and everything. I can say that I was a little upset.
Rescue came with the following link a friend of mine sent me: JXplorer - an open source ldap browser. Perfect! And it even works in SSL-mode and it has an integrated certificate manager — no need to fiddle around with the Java keytool and starting old Netscape 4.7 just to get to some outdated certificate database. It works, it’s free and it’s available for every platform I need it for.
