Zatôichi

I watched Zatôichi on Saturday night in Riff-Raff 2. I wasn’t very impressed, neither with the movie nor with the theater. The movie is okay, nothing spectacular, has some funny moments but also a couple too many long moments. Don’t be fooled by the fact that in the first 4 minutes about 6 people get killed.

The theater is — well, I will try to avoid it in the future. It’s right beside the Riff-Raff bar, so you hear people chatting all the time through the wall. The screen has the worst perforation I’ve seen for a long time, especially on bright scenes you see all those little holes. And no, I wasn’t sitting in the front row. Oh yeah, and for some reason I had the impression that they showed the movie in mono.
